8 feet there joined the choir from L.A. while touring Australia and performed at Varsity in the Gold Coast

Music Educators day AMAC showcase James Morrison - conducted workshop to 180 music educators.

 

8 Feet There are an experienced and eclectic groups of friends who have been singing acapella together for over 3 years. Their diverse repertoire and sublime harmonies breathe new life into a variety of performance material ranging from up tempo ‘traditional’ acapella songs to more modern pop songs such as Powderfinger, U2, Madonna and George Michael. 8 Feet There also love to showcase and involve their audience in world music and traditional gospel songs.  See our Bio for more

Daniel Koopu (Bass)

Dan, the bass man has a fabulous, resonant, true bass voice.He has been singing in various choirs and quartets for over 12 years but has had a lifetime of musical experience. Daniel grew up in a musical household studying music theory as a child before playing keyboard and trumpet in various bands. Having studied vocal technique and voice production Daniel is fascinated by the workings of the voice and its many applications.

Jacqueline Kooper (Alto)

Weaver of Sydney choir the Cleftomaniacs & whacky trio Kamaria, Jacqui has been singin’ acapella for 15 years. Having concepted the much loved Music Café, Jacqui has performed at varying events from the Songs of Africa concert & The Choral Sea to the Woodford Folk Festival.

Having performed with a wide variety of groups from Sacred Sisters, Masquerade, Spirits in Voice & Tongues of Fire, Jacqui has recently expanded her musical toolbox by founding and Directing local community choir, Mosaica. Historically a theatre performer, dancer and songwriter Jac’s passion for singing & harmony has landed her here as our amazing Alto

Mike Taylor (Tenor):

Mike is a multi-faceted performer! Not only is he a talented vocalist but he also plays jazz piano, guitar and bass guitar.A creative arranger (he arranges a lot of songs for 8FT), Mike has also studied the finer points of singing and currently holds vocal judging accreditation for men’s barbershop. Mike has taught vocal technique to various choirs and other groups and is the talented tenor of this ensemble.

Lisa Grant (Soprano)

Lisa is an accomplished singer and musician – with a passion that started at school and includes everything from school musicals, madrigal quartet, chamber choir, chorale, saxaphone, clarinet, piano, jazz band and orchestra. Having taken an extended break to study medical practice and have a family, Lisa has rekindled her love of music, song and harmonies through 8 Feet There.

Lisa is actively involved in supporting The Blenders and has recently recorded backing vocals for an upcoming cd release by a much loved Brisbane performer Annie Edwards. Lisa brings great energy and vitality to 8 feet There and her sultry soprano adds a lovely resonant zing to this ensemble.
